The goal

To give every club a shared video and data base that lightens the staff's daily analysis work, while leaving each club free to add its own internal data.

A shared base. Every match of the league is tagged by the same person, with the same method. The data compare from one team to another.
Time saved. HB Metrics takes on the heaviest part, the tagging. The staff keeps its time for analysis and training.
An open base. Each club can add its own internal data. Data export to CSV and clips remain editable.

The method

Every match becomes a matrix of events, linked to the video and comparable across the whole league.

The whole match is tagged. All events, not just the actions: the match is reproduced action by action, true to the match as played.
One camera is enough. The method works with medium-quality video, without HD or multiple angles.
Quality control before publication. Missing data and potential errors are detected, then every match is checked against the official match sheets.

What HB Metrics measures

Attack and possession: A possession can contain several attacks: efficiency is also measured in goals per attack.
Phases and shot types: Set attack, counter-attack, fast break; field shot, 7 m, empty goal, direct free throw.
Numerical situations: Even strength, power play, short-handed, with or without a goalkeeper, and 7 against 6 in its own right.
Zones and play types: The 13 HB Metrics zones. Play types follow the Handballytics definitions.
Participation and rating: The share of actions carried by each player, and the balance of his positive and negative actions.
Comparisons: A team against the other teams of the league, a player against the players in his position.

Two complementary platforms

Statistics live on HB Metrics, videos and clips on the Nacsport Hub. On a computer, a tablet or a phone, in French, Spanish and English.

League standings and tables of scorers, players, goalkeepers and discipline.

Team scouting

Strengths, weaknesses and style traits compared with the league, defensive systems by numerical situation.

Player scouting

Progression matchday after matchday, comparison with players in the same position, workload indicator.

Match preparation

Choice of the opponent and of the matches to study: most decisive players, efficiency by zone, PDF export.

Tactics board

An editor for systems animated phase by phase. Each team keeps its tactics private.

A player search module, based on data from the whole league.

The video platform

Clips linked to the data. Every action in the base has its clip on the Nacsport Hub, found directly from the match matrix.
The staff's playlists. They are built on the Hub in a few clicks. HB Metrics can also prepare them, as an option.
Sharing within the club. One or more administrators per team distribute the content to staff and players.
A publication window. The Hub keeps at least the last three matchdays; the window widens with the number of clubs using it.

The tagging is done. The analysis is yours.

HB Metrics does not replace the club's analyst: it takes the longest part of the job off their hands.

Hours of tagging per match are hours less to prepare for the opponent and support the players.

The data and clips arrive ready. The analyst stays in control: they consult the raw data, build their own playlists and steer the staff's work.

Options

Prepared playlists

With a video offer: a ready-to-use playlist on one or more matches (attack, defence, positive or negative actions, player, offensive or defensive study).

Opponent scouting

All the playlists on an opponent: the themes and the scouting of each of its players. Per opponent or for the whole season.

Extra match

A match outside the league (cup, play-offs) tagged, with its data on the platform and its clips on the Hub.

Nacsport Scout licence

Clip editing, building your own videos and a local history of the season. Included in the packs, optional with video only.

Launch season. The data platform is freely accessible until 31 December 2026, and video is available as a free trial until the same date.

Match video. If the league does not broadcast the matches, the club provides the video of each match to be analysed. One camera is enough; tagging and analysis are then fully taken care of.

A method built since 2023

HB Metrics was created by Cyprien Egly, performance analyst. Four successive experiences shaped the method.
